It all began in 2023, during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, with the presentation of the “Feel the Technology” project. On that occasion, attendees had the opportunity to experience a bonbon tasting in a “phygital” environment—a combination of physical tasting with an immersive experience that transported participants to a virtual setting. With three flavor options —sweet, acidic, or spicy— the bonbons awakened the senses while technology intensified the perception of the flavors.

From there, the team at El Celler de Can Roca, together with Futura Space and Mobile World Capital Barcelona, embarked on the development of an even more ambitious proposal: Magical Journey Through Cocoa. For over a year, they have worked on perfecting every detail, achieving a unique experience that can only be understood when lived firsthand. The Futura Space team has visited the restaurant multiple times to refine the details, ensure flawless technological implementation, and train El Celler’s team. And it is the very same waiters and sommeliers who, in addition to guiding the gastronomic experience, are now also responsible for immersing diners in this phygital world, transforming the table into a stage that pays tribute to cocoa.
